First Public Information Session : 20th Sep 2007

As part of the Notice of Commencement of the Environmental Screening process, the first public meeting was held at the Cottam United Church, in Cottam, on September 20th, 2007, between 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm.  The meeting served as an opportunity for the community to learn about wind energy and the proposed project, as well as an opportunity for us to engage the community in the development process.  There was a pretty good attendance; in total, we had 46 people sign in upon arrival.

For more details on the information provided at the information session, please see the Community section.

Notice of Commencement of Environmental Screening : 5th Sep 2007

Following the early project development and evolution, a Notice of Commencement of Environmental Screening for the proposed project was published in September, 2007. The Notice of Commencement was published in two local newspapers; the Essex Free Press, and the Kingsville Reporter. Notices were also distributed to approximately 2500 homes in and around the project area, as well as to all the relevant agencies and municipalities.

Wind Monitoring Mast : 7th Jun 2007

A wind monitoring mast (also often called an anemometry mast) was installed on June 7, 2007.  The tower is 60 metres in height, and is installed with anemometers and wind vanes at several heights to measure the wind speed and wind direction, respectively.  The data measured will help us to determine the wind resource at the site.

The tower is situated in an agricultural field on land of one of our participating landowners, off Road 9 West.
